MANILA, Philippines — Immigration authorities and the Philippine Army apprehended 24 Chinese nationals in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, over alleged immigration violations linked to unauthorized employment, the Philippine Army said on Tuesday. Authorities apprehended the suspects during a joint enforcement operation conducted on Monday by the Bureau of Immigration’s Region XI office and the Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Division in Barangay New Little Panay. Authorities said 27 Chinese were initially subjected to document verification, but investigators found 24 may have violated provisions of the Philippine Immigration Act.
