MANILA, Philippines—Following the tragic deaths of its players Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili, Ateneo has begged off from the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup. On Sunday, the executive committee of the preseason tournament officially granted Ateneo’s wish to withdraw from the competition.
