California declares chemical emergency, 40 000 residents ordered out

About 40,000 Californians were forced to evacuate their homes on Friday following a leak from a chemical storage tank in the southern part of the state. On Saturday, firefighters recorded an increase in the temperature of the hazardous substance, rising from 25°C to 32°C.
