MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Agriculture (DA) said it has implemented immediate relief and recovery measures to address the damage to crops and livestock aused by Mayon Volcano’s ongoing eruptive activity in Albay. The DA said the measures were put in place after its regional office in Bicol recorded P13.02 million worth of agricultural damage so far, reflecting 102 hectares of damaged crops, 364 metric tons of production losses, as well as 33 heads of livestock lost. “We are prioritizing seeds, fertilizers, farm tools, and financial support to help rice and vegetable farmers recover,” DA chief Francisco Tiu Laurel […]...
