Elena Rybakina overpowered Alex Eala and advanced to the round of 16 in the Italian Open after a 6-4, 6-3 win over the Filipina. Rybakina, who won the title in Rome in 2023, needed an hour and 32 minutes to stop Eala’s run in the WTA 1000 event. This was their first match-up, taking place on Mother’s Day and just 13 days before Eala’s 21st birthday.
