Groups slam Marcos Sr. birthday holiday bill

MANILA, Philippines — The groups Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses and Martial Law (CARMMA) and the August Twenty-One Movement (ATOM) slammed the approval on final reading of House Bill No. 9216, which seeks to declare September 11 as “President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos Day” in Ilocos Norte. The measure, which has no counterpart bill in the Senate yet, aims to designate Marcos Sr.’s birthdate as a special non-working holiday in the province.
