MANILA, Philippines — Forty-four areas in the country, including the weather station at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) in Pasay City, are expected to record a “danger” level heat index on Monday, May 25, according to the state weather bureau. Based on its latest update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Naia’s heat index is seen to soar to 43°C. Meanwhile, a 47°C heat index is forecast to be the highest for the day, which is expected to persist in Dagupan City, Pangasinan.
