MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) marked its first-ever participation in the Rim of the Pacific Exercise (Rimpac) 2026 on Thursday, joining a coordinated send-off with the Philippine Navy (PN) as both services deployed contingents to Hawaii for the multinational maritime drills. The PCG deployed its contingent aboard BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) during a send-off ceremony at Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila, while the Philippine Navy simultaneously sent off Naval Task Group 84 aboard BRP Miguel Malvar (FFG-06) at Naval Operating Base Subic, Zambales, according to separate statements from both services.
