LPA outside PAR has 'moderate' chance of becoming typhoon – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning and has a “moderate” chance of developing into a typhoon, the state weather bureau said. According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Veronica Torres, once the LPA enters and gradually approaches the country, it could potentially bring rainfall to a large part of the nation.
