Nigeria’s government is facing growing pressure on Friday as 36 senior military officers go on trial before a specially convened court martial over an alleged coup attempt against President Bola Tinubu. Political analyst Jibrin Ibrahim said Nigeria’s security situation “has never been worse” and accused the government of focusing more on protecting the president than tackling armed groups and terrorism.
