CALASIAO, Pangasinan — Pangasinan sizzled under extreme heat on Sunday, May 24, as the heat index reached 48 degrees Celsius at 3 p.m., the highest recorded in the province so far this year, according to the Pangasinan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO). Janks Arenas, emergency operations center staff member of the PDRRMO, said the data came from the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) station in Dagupan City.
