Aryna Sabalenka said she wanted โto quit tennisโ in an immediate post-match outburst after suffering one of the worst meltdowns in her career, losing 10 consecutive games en route to a shocking 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 defeat to the 25th seed Diana Shnaider in the quarter-finals of the French Open.
Asked by the moderator to explain her thoughts and emotions at the beginning of her post-match press conference, Sabalenka responded: โNo thoughts, no emotions. Just want to quit tennis right now,โ she said, shrugging. โBut weโll see. Weโll see in a few days. Hopefully Iโll get back on track mentally.โ
