CITY OF CALAPAN, Oriental Mindoro — Residents of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, were urged to take extra precautions on Tuesday after the town registered a heat index of 46 degrees Celsius, placing it under the “danger level” category, according to monitoring by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). In an advisory, the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Information Office warned the public against prolonged exposure to extreme heat as San Jose once again recorded one of the highest heat index levels in the country.
