Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye announced on May 25 the country has a new Prime Minister. A senior economist, Ahmadiu Au Aminou Lo is a former central banker who worked at the Central Bank of West African States. The nomination comes days after the dismissal of former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, in power since 2024, amid debates over the country's debt.
