CEBU CITY, Philippines – Ayala-led telecommunications firm Globe Telecom will launch its direct-to-cell satellite service in partnership with Elon Musk’s Starlink this June, with selected areas in the Visayas region part of the pilot rollout. Executives from Globe announced that they are on track with the phased rollout of the satellite-to-mobile technology. It will initially focus on remote areas in the Visayas and in northern Philippines, said Globe chief commercial officer Darius Delgado.
