MANILA, Philippines — A protester covered himself in mud on Sunday, November 30, to denounce widespread government corruption, particularly in flood control projects. Edward Soliman, who came from Antipolo City, said his community is repeatedly affected by flooding whenever tropical cyclones strike. “I am fed up with poverty. No change has happened,” Soliman told Inquirer in an interview. He added that he would be marching with his group, Bunyog, from Liwasang Bonifacio to Luneta Park in Manila.
